:: Nail Love ::

I have always loved nail polish but, for the most part it's been a love affair from a far. I love all the different colours available, and I would always admire the brightly coloured nails of girls I saw in the street or on the train. It was never for me, though. I would stick to muted tones, and even then it was only on my toes where hardly anyone would see it. Sometimes I would lash out and do my toe nails bright pink ... but it was always the same pink as every other time I felt adventurous.
Lately I've been feeling brave and inspired! I adore Summer and I adore bright colours. I've been watching all the Summer fashion trends on some American blogs and one thing I have noticed is candy coloured nails. Fun! So, with a little pushing from the nail Queen Karina, I did it! I took the plunge, bought some new colours and started wearing brightly coloured nail polish ... on my fingers!
Bright aqua nails, bright yellow cardigan ... and a rainbow smash drink!

My namesake - lavender. Love this one.

This colour is my latest purchase (I took this photo about 15 minutes ago!). I was hoping for a bright sunshine yellow, but I quite like this egg-yolk yellow colour.

What do you think? My next colour purchases will hopefully be a pale mint green, a coral/peach, and to off-set all the colour a nice matte pale grey (for days when my outfit brings the colour!).

Do you wear coloured nail polish? What is your favourite brand? I really like OPI, but it's super expensive here.

Are there any other beauty trends you recommend? I love wearing fun eye shadow, but I'm practically a newbie when it comes to lipstick/gloss (I've only ever worn it a few times. I'm a balm kind of girl).

:: Snail Mail ::

Yay! Who doesn't love a lovely hand written letter? To me there is nothing better. Except maybe that first cup of tea in the morning. But if I had a lovely letter to accompany that first cup of tea, then I would be in bliss!

Incoming:
This lovely letter came from Felicia. Love the lavender cupcake notecard - it even had a recipe on the back!

An English Country Living magazine from Claire! I love that she put post-it notes throughout the magazine for me!

This lovely letter is from Alicia. I love it's whimsical French theme.

Another letter from Claire! I adore the postcard - it's to remind me of her - bird in her hair and all, haha!

Outgoing:
I am a bad pen pal and can't remember who I sent this too :(

Another letter I can't remember the recipient of! :/ Help me out pen pals!!

A letter to Gracie to say thank you for organising her Happy Mail Project!

For the lovely Megan!

 For Felicia! Love the hilarious post card.

For the French-loving Alicia!

We have a public holiday tomorrow, to celebrate our royal show. I love that the week is broken up by a day off - it's a great way to catch up on sleep and any chores I may have missed on the weekend ... which was most of them. Ha!

I hope you're having a great week!

:: Wedding Photography ::

Last month I was given the opportunity to be the second photographer at yet another wedding. Love, love, love weddings. I took photos of the boys getting ready before the ceremony and had so much fun. They were a great bunch of guys and I think we spent most of the morning laughing as they tried to get used to having someone take their photo every few minutes (while shooting me blue steel looks mid-conversation every now and then)!

Isn't the bride's dress classic? She looked incredible.

I'm lucky enough to be shooting another wedding this weekend - the wedding of Gracie's brother, to be exact! I'm so excited and couldn't think of a better way to spend my Sunday.

Do you have anything exciting planned for the weekend? I also have a ladies garden party to go to - so excited!

:: Storage - Before and After ::

I own a lot of stationery. A lot. What I don't own is a lot of space to put it. Up until just recently most of my stationery was stored in a chest of drawers, which made it very difficult to see what was at the bottom of all those piles of paper and all those envelopes!

And then Mr LG found something wonderful. Something cute. Something stationery-related. And best of all, something I could use for storage!

An old library cart! eBay is a wonderful place to find cute and quirky pieces of furniture and I'm so glad Mr LG found this gem. We sent it off to be powder coated as soon as possible and I couldn't wait to start using it!

I haven't finished putting all my stuff in the little hidey holes, but I love the way it looks so far!

Have you found any gems like this on eBay, or similar websites? Our antique dining table and chairs are also from eBay, as well as a cute little antique decorative chair. It's amazing what you can find if you're willing to spend the time searching for it.
