:: Wedding Photography ::

In November I had my first paid wedding job as the primary photographer, I was so excited when Amanda and Gary decided to use me as their wedding photographer. Amanda and I used to work together and she asked me to be their photographer as soon as Gary proposed to her. Gary surprised me on the day - on the outside he's a tall, manly man ... that was, until he saw Amanda. Tears, so many tears. It was beautiful.

Isn't Amanda stunning? Seriously such a beautiful bride.

I adore weddings. I could seriously spend all day looking at wedding photos!

:: Wedding Photography ::

I'm back! We have the Internet again! Can you believe we went without Internet at our house for over a month? I have so much to share with you all!

First up, I wanted to share an amazing wedding I was second photographer for. The bride was my future sister-in-law's (my younger brother proposed - so excited!) older sister. And wow, talk about a ridiculously good looking bridal party. The girls were stunning!

The three sister's have Faith, Hope, and Love as their middle names! I love that idea and always wanted to use them as middle names for my future girls (should I be lucky enough to have three girls).
This photo of the bride is my favourite photo from the day.
My future sister-in-law!
Gorgeous, right?

And the best part? After seeing this set of photos on my facebook, a girl from work asked me to be her photographer for her wedding next year! So excited!

:: Wedding Details - The Girls ::

Good morning!

Boy am I glad it's the weekend. This weekend I have sweet nothing planned and I intend to enjoy every moment of it. I've been looking through some more of my friends photos from our wedding and I thought I would show you my lovely bridesmaids today. When I first started planning dress details I had a clear 'Grecian' vision in my mind. At first I was planning for a mint coloured bridal party, then I shifted to wanting chartreuse (which ended up being vetoed because of the olive-complexion of two of my girls). In the end I chose a vividly bright kelly green colour!

Each girl wore a dress suited to their body type. I wanted the dresses to have a Grecian theme to tie in with my dress, but also to reflect their own personal style.

A lot of people told me how much they loved the bright green dresses, most of them weren't expecting it! Hey, everyone knows I love green!

I love the colour and the way their dresses turned out.

The pops of bright green on the groomsmen looked fantastic too!

It's so much fun to look through all my friends photos. We still haven't decided what photos we want to go in our professional album, I feel like a mother being asked to choose her favourite child!

:: Flower Inspiration ::

Last Friday marked six months 'til Mr LG and I get married! In my free time this week I have been scouring my wedding magazine collection for checklists to make sure we are on-track and that there is nothing we are missing. From what I can see, we are up-to-date. Phew!

I took a day off work today (yay!) and went to visit a florist. Now, I do not pretend to know a lot about flowers. In fact, I know very little. That's not because I don't like flowers - I do! Flowers just aren't my forte. When I emailed this particular florist last week I asked for some basic quotes. She replied asking what kinds of flowers I was after. I sent her some pictures in response, because I didn't know the names of them!  Anyway, daftness aside, she is wonderful and I have booked her in for the big day. Hooray!

I would like to source these pictures, but I can't remember where I found them! If any of you know, please let me know so I can properly credit them.

I think the softness of these flowers will work well with the hairstyles and dress inspiration I have for my beautiful bridesmaids (no hints as to what I will be wearing or how my hair will sit, as Mr LG reads this blog). My next venture is to figure out how to decorate the reception tables. We will be having rectangular tables with 8-10 people per table. We do not want the centrepieces to block people's view, so our choices are very low or very high.

To all you married ladies out there, what did you have for table centrepieces? And to all you non-married ladies, do you have any suggestions for me? Any help is greatly appreciated, I can assure you!

Much love.

:: Bridesmaid Inspiration ::

Earlier this week I had my first appointment with the lady who will be making all the dresses involved in Mr LG's and my wedding (my dress, 3 bridesmaid dresses, a flower girl dress, and a Mother of the bride dress).

My dressmaker made the bridesmaid dresses for my sister's wedding and for my sister-in-law's wedding (both of which I had the honour of being a part of). We chanced upon her completely by accident. Back in 2008, my sister and I were looking at materials one day and a lady came over to ask if we needed help. We politely declined and continued to be overwhelmed by all the choices. Then another lady came over to ask if we needed help. We told her we would love some help. About half an hour later we had the most beautiful fabric in our arms and a handful of dress sketches (which she drew up on the spot) and an appointment to see her the following week!

This woman is undoubtedly the most talented designer and seamstress I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I found out last week that she was in charge of the 'cutting and sewing' team for the costumes in the latest Narnia movie :o !!!

The day after talking over my ideas with her she had already drawn up some sketches and sent them through to my inbox for perusal. She's incredible! I would love to show you the images, but Mr LG reads this blog and I want to keep the dresses a secret from him (sorry!). What I will show you is my inspiration for my fabulous girls! I love the flowy Grecian-inspired look. It will work well with the braided hairstyles I wrote about here. As the wedding will be in January, I plan to have short dresses, and the colour I have chosen is the mint green colour similar to the green dress in the left-hand corner.

What do you think?
