:: For the Love of Flowers ::
Mr LG and I went to the Brisbane Markets the other weekend. We had a great time looking at all the fresh produce and yummy meats. But my favourite section was the flowers. There was only a small flower section, but there was more than enough to make me happy!
We ended up buying a bunch of bright purple flowers, a bunch of lovely tiny white flowers and a bunch of pale pink flowers. I'm not a flower buff, so I have no idea what they're called! We had enough to fill three vases.
We put one in our kitchen:
One in our dining room:
And one in our living room:
I love the difference flowers can make to a room. They instantly brighten the place up, not to mention the yummy smells! This Spring/Summer I want to make a conscious effort to purchase more flowers. I think they'll be a good remedy for those days when you just feel meh.
What are you favourite flowers? I love jasmine (haha) and lavender (I know, I know). I also love hydrangeas, and roses. And I love how fun and happy gerbera's are!

:: Long Weekend ::
I have just come out of our last long weekend in a while. Over here on the East Coast of Australia we're quite spoilt around this time of year with long weekend after long weekend. Our next one isn't until mid-June, I'm not sure how I'll cope with a full working week next week!
I spent this past long weekend celebrating 60th birthdays - two of them in fact. The first was my sister-in-law's mother. We celebrated at her house. The long joint living/dining room was filled with a long table and was laden with all kinds of mouth-watering delicacies. My sister-in-law's Mum loves to cook, as does my sister-in-law, so we were all thoroughly spoilt with entrees of chicken soup and cabbage rolls (a Croatian food), mains of pig on a spit and corn salad, and a dessert of the fabulous cake you're feasting your eyes upon. It was made of layers of chocolate cake and chocolate mousse. To die for!

Mr LG and I also potted our plants this weekend ... and sad to say all the daisies have already died on one of the plants ... I fear gardening may not be our strong point :/ Nevertheless, I am determined to persevere! Here are our plants in their new home on our front deck. The furry four-legged model is our next-door-neighbour's cat - Cleo.

Everyone dressed up and "played ladies" (or gentlemen) and it was lovely. I love how a High Tea takes seemingly simple items such as scones, sandwiches, and cake and turns it into one of the best meals you've tried in a long time. I have now decided to create a High Tea inspired dinner - with mini sample sized treats for each course. I'll let you know how this goes if I ever muster up the cooking courage to do this - I'm not exactly the most creative person in the kitchen.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my potential bridal hair. I think I may have found my hairdresser, so I will soon be able to rest easy on that topic. I am currently growing my hair (which seems to be a bridal trend, I've noticed). I have quite a large fringe at the moment, so I am growing it out to allow for more flexibility when it comes to hair styles. I have started braiding my fringe across my hairline in an attempt to keep it outof my face (if I leave it out it looks like I'm growing out a bad mullet. Classy!). Gracie has asked me to post a photo of what my braided fringe looks like. I am not quite talented enough to braid both sides of the plait - as you can see, one side is braided and the other sits as a normal plait.

:: Long Weekend ::
How was everyone's weekend? Mine was a long weekend, and even then it went far too fast! My long weekend was spent watching my little sister play soccer (she's the tall one on the far left with two curly pigtails). I love watching little ones play team sport. They all ran around after the ball, but didn't really do all that much. It seems my Mum's "be kind and let everyone have a go" mentality has worked on my sister. She doesn't like to steal the ball from the other team members!Other than exciting soccer matches Mr LG and I went shopping for plants to make our house a bit more of a "home". At the moment it's looking a little "bachelor-pad-esque" as I won't be moving in 'til after we marry. We came home with two pots of traditional daisies and some lavender (ha ha!). I will take photos of them in their new home once we have put them in pretty pots. We also had afternoon tea with the whole tribe (I'm one of six kids), went for a bike ride to check out Mr LG's old primary school, and watched episodes of V.
I'm currently listening to 'If Only' by Hanson and pretending I wasn't as crazy as all the Justin Bieber fans seem to be :/ Oh, who am I kidding, haha.
