Anyway! I've got some super cute photos to share with you from my niece's first birthday and my nephew's third birthday. My eldest niece and nephew share the same birthday so it was a joint first and third birthday. My sisters chose a Giggle & Hoot theme. For the non-Australians that read my blog Giggle & Hoot is an Australian children's television show that runs for about five minutes at a time in between other shows. It consists of a (super cute) host Jimmy Giggle (I think he was chosen for the Mummys, haha!) and his best friend Hoot (a stuffed owl puppet), they sing songs and do little skits. Hoot also has a friend called Hootabelle, who (as you can probably guess) is a girl owl. My niece is obsessed with Giggle & Hoot and it covers both boy and girl aspects of the party so it was a great choice!
(My sister is still against photos of my nephew being online, but I can assure you he was there and had a great time!)
The birthday girl, in her Hootabelle inspired dress
Party bags decorated to look like Hoot and Hootabelle - so cute! Each bag was filled with little toys for each guest and was later used to hold lollies and prizes from the Hootabelle pinata.
She couldn't stop high-fiving everyone all day, even while we were trying to take photos!
And to prove I was actually there!

Wonderful pictures Jasmine! And yes there has obviously been a lot going on since your last post :) sounds like pretty good thing as well!
ReplyDeleteI want to see every photo shoot you do! You are so skilled, my dear :)
ReplyDeletewonderful photos as always Jasmine! it sounds like you have had a jam packed couple of months, and it sounds like things are going really well for you and especially with your photography! Oh my gosh I would die without the internet, maybe it would be good for me to disconnect a little more! By the way what is a cake smashing session??
ReplyDeleteI love the lovely colors in these pictures! What a pretty party!
ReplyDeleteMy sister-in-law loves owls. I gave her a DIY calendar for Christmas that My Owl Barn puts out each year.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics! and what a sweet and beautiful little birthday girl.
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine! So glad to see you back on the blog after your break! It sounds a wonderfully busy few months, if these photos are anything to go by! This party looks and sounds like such a 'hoot' - get it? ;-) I seriously love the owl theme, plus all the decorations are so cute. I especially love those little polka dot paper cups for the popcorn. Also, your niece is adorable! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that your 2014 has started off well!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks so much for your lovely comments, Jasmine! Sorry for not replying sooner, I didn't actually receive any notifications about your comments (silly Blogger!), but have since emailed you about becoming pen-pals! :-) In response to your comments/questions: Thank you so much! I am so excited about university, though I just need to make sure I get the grades now. London is only about 2 hours from where my family and I live, so it's not too far at all. I think 2 hours is a pretty good distance. I also applied to Bristol University which is about 2 hours away, as well as Edinburgh which is probably 4/5 hours away! Admittedly, I am slightly apprehensive about Edinburgh since it's so far away!
Also, with regard to Oxford University, I don't think I explained very well! Basically, Oxford (and Cambridge) is split up into lots of different colleges. The college that you're a part of will basically be your 'home', where you usually live, eat, attend tutorials, etc. For the specific college that I applied to, there were 3 places for the course I applied to do! Other colleges have maybe between 2 and 8 students for that course, depending on the size of the college since there are some small, medium and large colleges at Oxford. Overall at Oxford, there were around 90 places for the course I chose - so not that many! But there are obviously lots of other courses at Oxford, so the student population is actually pretty large. Hope that makes sense :-)
I literally just made an Instagram account on Sunday! Bit late to the Instagram party haha, but better late than never! My username is @chloetamxo
Hopefully looking forward to more of your posts soon! And hope we can start writing some letters to each other soon! :-D
P.S. I am in loooove with your photography - you are so very talented!
I love all the little details of this party. So cute. And as you know, quite the fan of owls. I think I'd force my kids to like the show for the owls, rather than Jimmy Giggle haha!
ReplyDeleteglad you are back! holy cow that is a lot of photos. these are really lovely!
