:: Flower Inspiration ::

Last Friday marked six months 'til Mr LG and I get married! In my free time this week I have been scouring my wedding magazine collection for checklists to make sure we are on-track and that there is nothing we are missing. From what I can see, we are up-to-date. Phew!

I took a day off work today (yay!) and went to visit a florist. Now, I do not pretend to know a lot about flowers. In fact, I know very little. That's not because I don't like flowers - I do! Flowers just aren't my forte. When I emailed this particular florist last week I asked for some basic quotes. She replied asking what kinds of flowers I was after. I sent her some pictures in response, because I didn't know the names of them!  Anyway, daftness aside, she is wonderful and I have booked her in for the big day. Hooray!

I would like to source these pictures, but I can't remember where I found them! If any of you know, please let me know so I can properly credit them.

I think the softness of these flowers will work well with the hairstyles and dress inspiration I have for my beautiful bridesmaids (no hints as to what I will be wearing or how my hair will sit, as Mr LG reads this blog). My next venture is to figure out how to decorate the reception tables. We will be having rectangular tables with 8-10 people per table. We do not want the centrepieces to block people's view, so our choices are very low or very high.

To all you married ladies out there, what did you have for table centrepieces? And to all you non-married ladies, do you have any suggestions for me? Any help is greatly appreciated, I can assure you!

Much love.

  1. Those flowers are absolutely gorgeous! They will look great with your bridesmaids!) I was pretty happy with my flowers too and I loved my florist. I will have to post wedding photos again on the blog.

For our centre pieces we used lanterns and I twisted these butterflies on top. There were about two or three lanterns per table and I had a frame on each table with the table number (which was a picture of us holding the table number up). I love candles as centre pieces.

I'm so glad that we have 3 bedrooms in our little townhouse. So I was able to have the bigger of the two other rooms for my creative space, which is why I want to make the most of it. Lol oh definitely take a trip to Ikea for photo frames. I love getting boxes and other things from there too.

Haha it's true with Santa's helper you get to be a bit more colourful. I'm at the Carindale store. I even went to Santa helper training :)

And it's true my room isn't too messy but the garage is. I just want to organise it and make it look good. x

  2. I had fake flower arrangemts made into little tree's in Burgundy and Black for my table arrangements.

And I carried a bouquet made of calla liliies and white roses :D

    My bridesmaids wore rose corsages!

    Those bouquets look gorgeous!

  3. Oh how fun! I loved planning the flowers and centerpieces for our wedding. We used teal mason jars filled with small flower bouquets and some peacock feathers (shortened). We also had stones as place cards so they were on the table as well. You can see some photos on my blog in this post about my wedding:

    Good luck!

  5. YAY! So exciting!!!

I love a scattering of small flower arrangements in pretty vases of various shapes and sizes. You could even float peonies (or other big blossoms) in gorgeous little vintage teacups. When I was planning our wedding I got inspiration from:

  9. That sounds like such exciting news, Jasmine! I wish you the best of luck! I imagine that it must be quite hard work, but it sounds like you're having fun too, which is fantastic. :D Those flowers in the photos look great too, I've always imagined that, at my wedding, I would love loads of white freesias and roses!

Thank you so much for the congratulations! Eclipse was exceptionally good, I loved it and it was so much better than Twilight and New Moon, you have to see it!
