:: Backyard Demolition ::

This weekend was a busy one! Mr LG and I had our family and friends over to help us demolish our backyard. The previous owners of our house were a little ... free-range, shall we say. They let the backyard become a jungle. Observe exhibits A and B.

Mr LG and I have already had a good crack at cleaning up the backyard and we filled a huge skip full of debris, but we decided to call on a little help this time. The majority of my brothers and sisters came around with their partners (save for the ones that were unwell) and a few friends came 'round too. This is what our backyard looked like before everyone started venting their pent-up anger on it:

Some of our trees are quite tall and will need to be removed by professionals because they sit too close to the house, the fences, and our neighbours house! We can't afford to fix someone else's house right now! Here are the boys, hard at work.

Our backyard now looks like this:

There is still a lot of work to be done, but our backyard looks 100 times better than it did before. For starters, you can see our back fence from our back deck now! We plan to knock down all the trees and put proper grass down so we can start fresh, but that's a story for another day.

  1. That must have been SOOOOO much work. You weren't kidding when you said "jungle". Looks great now! Can't wait to see what else you do with it!

  5. It's so good that you have a big backyard though! Swimming pool :p It looks like a lot of work but it will look fabulous afterwards!

    I do want that 101 Dreams book from Kikki.K (anything from Kikki.K really). And 101 things to achieve before 30 is such a great idea!

    I actually bought my letterpress from a couple in Redcliffe. They own a business called Bespoke Press. They are quite well known for letterpress because there aren't many here in Brisbane. They were selling off some of their older stock and didn't need a tabletop press. It looks great even though I haven't used it much yet.

    And I will try and email again soon! x

  6. Ah thanks so much for the comment, it was really sweet of you!

    Wow, Australia looks amazing and so does your back yard! It looks like a big task, but with some hard work, I'm sure you'll pull it off. Think of the amazing summer that you can have there once it's all done - I think that's all the motivation you need. Good luck with it all! :)
