:: Wedding Inspiration - Wedding Rings ::

I don't know if I'm one of a few, or if every girl is just like me - but I have had my perfect engagement ring pictured in my head for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I knew what I wanted and didn't know it was part of a particular style or period (I just knew it was pretty!). I now know the style I love is from the art deco period. I am so in love with almost everything art deco-ish.

For a while I toyed with the idea that I may want a coloured engagement ring, or maybe three stones in a row, or even perhaps a larger stone with baguettes down the band ... and yes, I toyed with these ideas while I was still single. Hey, a girl can dream!

When Mr LG and I went to look at engagement rings I didn't even bother to try on the art deco style I loved, because I was so sure it wouldn't suit me. But, Mr LG picked a ring out that he loved and asked me to please try it on. It was exactly the style I had always wanted!

That ring became my engagement ring a few months later.

This is my amazing engagement ring! I am currently without it as it is at the ring makers having a wedding band matched to it. I am having a half-band of small diamonds to match the shoulders of my engagement ring and I can't wait 'til January when I can wear both and proudly let all my family and friends know how much I love and adore Mr LG.

Do you have a favourite style of jewellery you love to wear ... or dream to one day wear? Another jewellery item I love is necklaces. I own so many of them and if I am out, you will rarely see me without one.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

  1. I love your art deco ring! I love the style but I know it wouldn't suit me. My sis in law that same kind of style. She has has half band of diamonds too on her wedding ring :)

    I love necklaces as well but I always seem to wear my Tiffany necklace Jason bought for my 21st bday. Although I buy a lot of necklace and love to look at them.

  2. Oh it is beautiful! Absolutely love it. I'm a bit afraid of rings as I have really tiny hands so they all make me look like a little kid playing dress up lol.
    As for me I love wearing bracelets and always have one that I'm wanting.

    Typo's bike/vintage range is awesome! I almost don't want to give my items away as gifts ;)

    Mombasa is getting so much better. But if you like something you have to get it. Things change so quick in that store.

    I will totally say 'congrats' to my friend for you :p Liz is doing well. She was a bit out of it because she had a c-section but she is recovering well. And Layla is just beautiful! I simply adore her.

    And we find out on Wed whether it will be a niece or nephew!!

    The weather is amazing lately!! It sucks that I have to work at least one of the days.

    We are staying in Cotton Tree which is close to Maroochydore. Caloundra will be amazing for your honeymoon!

  11. I love this post.

    Funny story, Caleb (my close friend and boyfriend of 4 months) and I went to a huge antique market last weekend. I stopped at all the jewelry stands just because I like to look at pretty things. Caleb was with me, of course, and the booth tenders would do everything besides say, "Can I help you find an engagement ring?" It was precious, only a little awkward, and really tempting to say, "No thanks, we're just dating." :)
