:: Town Mouse, Country Mouse ::

I love living close to the city. I love working in the city. I love the hustle and bustle, the bright lights and fast paced living. I love the wild, weird and wonderful.

I also love the country. I love seeing the stars. I love the serenity and tranquility. I love nature and wildlife.
So in love with this little guy!

A little while ago Mr LG and I headed out to the country to visit his family. I really enjoyed taking a step away from the fast-paced life of the city and relished the clean, country air. When I was younger I used to love visiting my cousins on their farm. I loved country life! Now though, I'm definitely a city girl. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy my country retreats (like the one I'm going on this weekend!).

How about you? Are you a town mouse or a country mouse?

  4. I would say I'm 85% city and 15% country/ wilderness. Have a great time!

  5. i really want a house in the country. With a white picket fence. An aga. A huge open fire. A black lab asleep in the sun. Oh and a grapevine to make my own wine. I think that's reasonable? No? x

  6. I'd think that I'm pretty much like you - prefer being in the city but definitely needing a little country time in the middle. :) I've always loved the peace and greenery that the country has, but the town is beautiful too with its buildings and lights. I'm always torn. But perhaps I could be in the city with my white picket fenced house. ;) x

  10. I really love both. I'm more of a city girl because I liked the life around me. (Plus I would go crazy if I lived in the country) but I do like country retreats. It's a time to relax and to look at the stars (I love what you said about seeing God's magnitude with the stars - beautiful).

I have tagged you too :)

  11. I love both ... I think I'll always be a city girl, but I do feel the 'call' of the country too ... the best of both worlds! :)

  12. oh oh oh that frog! i'm definitely more of a town girl. i realize that more and more now that i live in strip mall wasteland. i do love cities too, but only to visit for a short while. they drain me!!

of course when i was living in a super small town in chile, i absolutely longed for culture: museums, art, poetry and people to talk about these things to!

  13. Such beautiful photos!!! You are so talented my dear :) I am def a country mouse. I think most people would be culture shocked if they visited the little Texas city I'm from. Luckily it's only a two hour drive from the big city of Dallas. Small town living does have its charms, but I would give it all up for the big city if the city in question were LONDON :) My heaven on earth! :) I've never lived in a big city so I am curious to see how I'd be as a city girl :)
