Winter has well and truly hit Brisbane. And I don't just mean the fact that the first official day of Winter was yesterday. I mean that I spent yesterday rugged up in three tops, long pants, and two pairs of socks. I realise that "Brisbane cold" does not really measure up to "real cold" standards, but spending most of my life living in a semi-tropical climate has made me a big wuss!
When the cooler months hit, I drown myself in entirely too much tea. The above tea towers were a wedding gift from an unknown guest! They came with no tag and we haven't managed to find the giver yet. I love them - such amazing flavours (Coconut Chai? Yes, please!) and best of all - they're organic and fair trade certified, certified gluten and allergen free AND the tin they come in is also recyclable (should I ever feel the need to throw the prettiness out).
So far my favourites are Coconut Chai, Raspberry Earl and Peach Ginger. Mmmm!
Are you a tea drinker? What's your favourite flavour? I like good old English Breakfast and Orange Pekoe on an everyday basis. I also like to indulge in a chai latte sometimes when I go out!

Gorgeous! I love jasmine green tea. I first fell for earl grey with sugar after kayaking and our friends brewed it on the camping stove. It was delicious. I just love your words on my blog about the joy of looking back and forwards. Beautiful. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant wedding gift! That Coconut Chai sounds scrummy! I love chai too, and even though I hate liquorice for some reason I have been enjoying liquorice tea lately - yum! :)
ReplyDeleteOh yum! We drink lots of tea here, and only organic and fair trade. I must source some of these!
ReplyDeletesooo weird that it is winter there!! i still can't wrap my head around the opposite seasons, haha!
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous and inviting tea boxes... I drink way to much coffee... but sometimes I have pepermint tea!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a perfect wedding gift! My favourite tea at the moment is Chai or Lady Grey. Canberra has had a surprisingly lovely start to winter but apparently it is meant to all go down hill next week.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I'm a huge fan of your basic english breakfast or irish breakfast. Though last night I put what I thought was english breakfast in a cup and ended up drinking something that seemed a lot like earl grey. I was a tad disappointed. Tea soon, I hope?
ReplyDeleteI like tea a lot, too, when it's cold! Lately I've been wanting to drink some tea, but it's 100 degrees here and I just can't do it.
ReplyDeleteMmm... I love me some tea. I've been really into Vanilla Chai lately, but drink green tea every day.
ReplyDeleteThose towers are pretty cute! Enjoy your "winter":P (sorry, cynical canadian over here... i would love your cold temperatures.)
Have a good day:)

Ha ha it's cold over here at the moment too. Well 2-4C at night, so that's cold for me. And I'm brewing up a storm, I've currently got a cup of Morrocan Mint that's delicious! And I have about 6 different types in my 'snack drawer' at work. What brand are those? I'll have to keep an eye out and see if they have them here. And if no one else claims them, they were a gift from us! LMAO!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fantastic wedding gift!! I would definitely keep the containers when it's finished. They're too pretty to throw out.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm the same with winter and I too am a wuss with the cold. That's what we get for living in Brissy.
And I do remember the Christmas markets your dad ran and I would love to know more again when it gets closer :) x
I drink leaf tea, earl grey or lapsing douching, have to have my tea in the morning. Love your tea selection, very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI am not looking forward to winter. Been wearing sweaters for a week or 2 already! And with winter only officially beginning yesterday...yep, I'm a wuss!
ReplyDeleteAlas, I am not much of a tea drinker. I've never even tried any fancy ones! Hot chocolate and Milo though, is another story! ;-)
Lovely pics as always, Dave. Adore that last one!
mmm those look delicious! I love tea, and chai is my favourite! I love love love chai tea! That coconut chai looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteThree layers on top?!?!? Yep, it sounds like winter all right. Stay toasting warm, dear!

As obsessed as I am with London and English culture you would think I'd be more of a tea drinker! But I'm more of a coffee person truth be told! :) That coconut chai sounds amazing though! I love anything coconut (especially coconut m&ms which I have just discovered!). I can't get over that it's cold in your part of the world because it's insanely HOT here in Texas!
ReplyDeletei am in love with those tea cups! There's something on it's way to you. No it's not tea, but something just as exciting haha
