:: A Life Update ::

Hello lovelies!

My blogging has fallen by the wayside as of late, which I hate. Okay, so I was never going to win an award for the most frequent and entertaining blogger, but you get what I mean. I have so many things to share with you all - like my semi-clean spare room and the upcoming renovations that have stopped me from cleaning it completely (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it, ha!), my giveaway (just you wait, it will be amazeballs), so many photos from our beach escape, our professional wedding photos ... the list is huge.

In an effort to keep things real, I'll let you in on what's been going on in my life that's kept me away from the computer. I'd like to say it was something fantastically exciting, but really it's just plain old sickness. I'm pretty sure I whinged on here about being sick sometime last October ... and well, I haven't been well ever since.

Those who know me outside of this blog will know that I'm one of those sick kids - you know the type - allergic to everything, asthmatic, blah, blah, blah. But finally, finally (!) they've figured out the source of my pain for the past few years. I've had a bunch of tests and it would seem my small intestine has rolled up on itself kind of like if you roll a sock down your leg. It's called intussusception ... so it's like an intestine within an intestine! Bad joke. Sorry. I'll probably need surgery to have the rolled up part removed but I am so excited to finally have an answer!

And now for a hospital gown fashion parade ...
Here we see Jasmine wearing a lovely insipid yellow number. The pale colour is so wonderfully complimented by the brown floral pattern. It really brings out her eyes ...
Here our model wears a lovely open-backed pink number. She is wearing her own Mary-Janes and stockings to finish off the outfit ...
The buttons down the front really bring out the sexiness of this striped number, don't you agree?
Our model wears a lovely mix of accessories in this photo. The glasses are really set off by the nose tube - this year's hottest accessory.

Don't get me wrong, my life is still amazing, this is but a mere bump in the road. After they removed my sexy nose tube I headed straight to the NKOTBSB concert and had the best time. I was eight last time NKOTB was in Australia so I was SO excited to finally be able to see them. And it's no secret that I'm a huge Backstreet Boys fan. I am a child of the 90s, after all.

Camera's were banned from the venue, so I relied on my phone. This is Jordan singing 'Didn't I (Blow Your Mind)'.

The weather has slowly been cooling down here, the heaters have been fired into action and I've been enjoying lovely hot cups of tea - is there anything better than a nice, soothing cup of tea? Why yes, there is! Tea in a pretty mug!

How do you like your tea? I love mine with honey and almond milk - yum!

  1. Oh dear! Sorry to hear you have been so unwell and subjected to bad hospital fashion on top of it! You look gorgeous regardless, and it's great you have an answer after all that time - yay!
New kids? Really! Wow, I would have like to have been there for nostalgia if nothing else !
I have been drinking dandelion tea with honey and scrummy local unhomoginised milk from a new local dairy (which my body hates but I love)
I LOVE your tea mugs! It certainly brings a nice sense of ceremony to drink out of pleasing recepticles ;p

    1. Seeing New Kids was AWESOME! They were exactly like I imagined they'd be - even though they're now 'old' for a 'boy' band, haha. They actually had more energy than BSB!

Dandelion tea sounds delicious. I'll have to check it out!

  2. I love that you collected pictures of your different hospital gowns. You have such a good attitude about the whole situation, but I think I would too if I had been sick for months and months and finally found out what was wrong! I can't wait to see all the things that are coming up on the blog!

    1. When I was 12 I had to have an operation and they gave me a 'pretty' gown from the maternity ward to try to make me feel better ... but forgot it had two open slots for breastfeeding, hahaha. Mortifying! I would've documented that if I could've, so funny!

  3. I'm so sorry to hear that you have been unwell! And horrible hospital gowns, well they certainly aren't designed to make people feel better are they? Hope you are on the road to recovery especially now they have found what is wrong.
Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog :) I'm really glad to be back to blogging! And that judgement thing had been bugging me for a while. We should put what we want on our blogs whether its hospital gowns or photos of our daily coffee!
You should definitely watch the Full Monty its pretty funny. One to watch with a girlfriend and some junk food I think!
And the green tea with mandarin is just one I bought, do you get the healtheries brand of tea over there? It has lime flower in it too and it honestly is the best tasting green tea ever!

  4. How horrible that you've been unwell for so long Jasmine! Hopefully now that you know the problem, you can start getting some relief. I hope you're feeling much better really soon!
Even I, a 60's model (only just I might add), was a fan of the Backstreet Boys. They sang the kind of pop that I like, and I would never say no to a little bit of eye candy!! My dreamboat however was George Michael. I've loved him since I was 12, and still do madly! I know, I know, he's gay, but it makes no difference in the world to me. My chances of shagging him are zero anyway, so what does it matter? lol
He's coming out in November and I already have my tickets stashed away safely. Can't wait!!

PS Just white with stevia is how I'm having my tea at the moment, as I've recently omitted sugar from my diet :)

    1. I love how every era has a boy band or singer that girls went nuts over - George Michael, NKOTB, BSB, Hanson, Justin Bieber, One Direction etc. It's a love that knows no age!

  5. I found out last fall (through a much more dramatic ER visit and subsequent emergency surgery) that my intestine twisted upon itself, cutting off blood supply until a section died. It was super super scary, and I hope that after you have surgery you feel a lot better. I'll send my prayers your way!

    1. Holy cow, how scary! I remember when you went to hospital, but I didn't know it was for that! Do they know how it happened? Is there a chance of it happening again?

Are you feeling better now? I sure hope so!

  6. You are really rocking the gowns. I think my favourite number is the striped blue one and the nose tube. So sexy. And I'm glad you were able to go to the concert. I love being a 90's child :) I must try almond milk. Maybe my tummy will like it better.

  9. Wow, dearest. Sending you loads of love. So sorry to hear that you've continued to be sick. But I'm happy for you that you have an answer and hopefully can move forward from this soon. You look so gorgeous in your hospital gown photos! When my husband and I visited New York, NYKOB were staying in the same hotel as us. Every time we came out of the lift or into the hotel there were women everywhere hovering to get a glimpse of them. They'd be full of hope as the lift doors opened and then see it was just us tourists and be so disappointed! They were outside signing autographs one day when we came back from sightseeing so made the fans happy.

  20. Hi Jasmine! Apologies for the distinct lack of blogging on my part, I have been knee deep in exams so sorry for the belated comment on your blog!

So sorry to hear that you've been sick, but on the bright side, at least you know the cause of it now and you're on the mend! Hope you're feeling better! :-)
I've never tried almond milk before, but it sounds lovely! I may have to hunt some down next time I'm in the supermarket. I like English breakfast tea with milk and one sugar! :-)

    Hope you're well!
